Ideal Communications Network

Welcome to the Future of the Internet.

For years, the internet has been running out of space. The old system (IPv4) only had enough IP addresses for a fraction of the devices connected today. To fix this, internet providers have been cramming multiple customers behind a single, shared IP address.

Today, Ideal Communications Network (ICN) is changing the rules. We are incredibly proud to announce that we are the very first ISP in Ishwardi Upazilla to successfully deploy a Global IPv6 Network for our home and corporate users!

🌐 What is Dual-Stack IPv6?

We are running a “Dual Stack” configuration. This means your router will now receive both a standard IPv4 address (for older websites) and a brand-new, globally unique IPv6 address (for modern services).

Your connection will automatically use whatever is fastest and most efficient, completely seamlessly.

🚀 Why This is a Massive Upgrade for You:

  • Every Device Gets a Public IP: Say goodbye to NAT (Network Address Translation) bottlenecks. Your phone, PC, and Smart TV now get their own direct, unique address on the internet.
  • The Ultimate Gaming Experience: Tired of “Strict NAT” errors on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, or PC games? IPv6 eliminates NAT entirely, giving you Open NAT types, better matchmaking, and lower latency.
  • Faster Routing: IPv6 headers are streamlined. Data packets move through the global internet faster and more efficiently than the older IPv4 system.
  • Future-Proof: Tech giants like Google, Facebook, and Netflix heavily prioritize IPv6 traffic. You are now surfing on the modern highway.

⚙️ How to Enable IPv6 on Your Router

Even though our servers are pushing IPv6 to your home, most consumer routers have IPv6 turned OFF by default. You must manually flip the switch to get your new global IP.

  1. Log into your router’s admin panel (typically 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1).
  2. Look for the IPv6 tab in the main menu or Advanced Settings.
  3. Toggle the IPv6 switch to Enable or ON.
  4. Set the Internet Connection Type to match your current setup (Usually PPPoE using your existing ICN username/password, or Dynamic IP/DHCPv6 depending on your router brand).
  5. Save the settings and Reboot your router.

Once rebooted, you can verify it is working by visiting test-ipv6.com from any device connected to your WiFi!

We are constantly upgrading our infrastructure to bring world-class technology straight to Ishwardi. Thank you for choosing Ideal Communications Network as your trusted internet partner.

  1. There is a lot here that only makes sense after trying it once. The difference between what is measured and what matters is a sharp point. It is worth sharing with anyone starting out.

  2. Proper dual-stack IPv6 is still rare enough in Bangladesh that this is genuinely exciting news. Hope more ISPs follow ICN’s lead instead of leaning on CGNAT for another decade.
